Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions’ they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness’ mercy and love. Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow’ Blessings all mine’ with ten thousand beside! Chorus

He was wounded for our transgressions, He bore our sins in His body on the tree; For our guilt He gave us peace, From our bondage gave release, And with His stripes, and with His stripes, And with His stripes our souls are healed. He was numbered among transgressors, We did esteem Him forsaken by His God; As our sacrifice He died, That the law be satisfied, And all our sin, and all our sin, And all our sin was laid on Him. We had wandered, we all had wandered Far from the fold of "the Shepherd of the sheep"; But He sought us where we were, On the mountains bleak and bare, And bro't us home, and bro't us home, And bro't us safely home to God. Who can number His generation? Who shall declare all the triumphs of His Cross? Millions, dead, now live again, Myriads follow in His train! Victorious Lord, victorious Lord, Victorious Lord and coming King!

Jesus, what a name to trust in, What rich mercy, what great love! What sweet freedom we received when Jesus, freely, shed his blood. Jesus, what a sure salvation Has been bought by love and grace Sinners find their burden light when Sins, like stones, are rolled away. Chorus: Hallelujah, death is done Christ is risen, life is come Hallelujah, death is done Christ is risen, life is come Jesus, what a help in hard times Shelter from life’s bitter storms. Every lost and wandering soul finds All that they’ve been searching for. Chorus Jesus, what sweet peace is granted To the heart that longs for rest What a hope when all, despairing, Look to Jesus and are blest Chorus

The sweet Lamb of God comes forth to be slain, And offers his blood to purge off our stain; With bitterest anguish and groans on the tree, the Savior did languish for sinners like me. Look on him, my soul, and gaze on his smart; His cries may control the lusts of my heart; His blood has set often the worst broken bones; His love too can soften hearts harder than stones. Right worthy indeed he is of high fame, And saints have all need to trust in his name; Not feed on their graces, nor strut with a frame, But fall on their faces, and worship the Lamb. Lo! Here is a feast of delicate food, For prodigals dressed, yet costly and good. Our Father provided this Lamb for a treat; And if you are minded you freely may eat. None other repast my spirit would have; Thy flesh let me taste, sweet Lamb, and yet crave; Thy blood ever flowing my pleasant cup be; Thy fleece on earth growing make clothing for me. Thus covered and fed at thy proper cost, That path I would tread which pleases my host. Thy patience inherit, thy lowliness prove, Catch all thy sweet Spirit, and burn with thy love.

Lift your heads ye friends of Jesus Lord of lords shall soon appear With the angel hosts surrounded, In His Father’s glory here Saints on rocks and mountains calling, While the glorious Judge draws nigh, Chorus: Allelujah, Allelu Allelu, Allelujah Finish, then, Thy new creation; Pure and spotless let us be. Let us see Thy great salvation Perfectly restored in Thee; See the flaming revelation, See the universal blaze! Chorus: Allelujah, Allelu Allelujah, Allelu Allelujah, Allelu Allelu, Allelujah

Lamb of God 05:09
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world. O have mercy on us. O have mercy on us. Lord have mercy on us. Lord have mercy on us. Grant us peace Lord. Grant us peace Lord.

The Feast 03:50
How sweet and wondrous is the place With Christ within the doors While everlasting love displays The choicest of her stores While all our hearts and all our songs Join to admire the feast Each of us cry, with thankful tongues, "Lord, why was I a guest?" Chorus: We'll praise our risen Lord While at His feast we sit His griefs a hallowed theme afford For sweetest music fit "Why was I made to hear Thy voice, And enter while there's room When thousands make a wretched choice, And rather starve than come?" 'Twas the same love that spread the feast That sweetly forced us in Else we had still refused to taste And perished in our sin Chorus: Such torments He endured As none e'er felt before That joy and bliss might be secured To us forevermore Pity the nations, O our God! Constrain the earth to come Send Thy victorious Word abroad And bring the strangers home We long to, with one voice and soul, Sing Thy redeeming grace For Thou hast borne our sin in full To save Thy chosen race Chorus: Stretched on the cruel tree, He bled and groaned and cried And in a mortal agony Was left alone to die Chorus: Then up to Heaven He rose That we might with Him go Where love and praises have no end Where joys no changes know

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away. Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away; And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away. Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more. Be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more; Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more. E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die. And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die; Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die. When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave, Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save. I'll sing Thy power to save, I'll sing Thy power to save; Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I'll sing Thy power to save.

O my Savior, I am weary! Let my cry to Thee ascend While in humble supplication, Now before Thy throne I bend! O my Savior, tho' unworthy, I have no where else to go; Thou canst pardon my transgressions, Thou canst wash me white as snow! Chorus: Weak and helpless, yet believing, Casting all my care on Thee, I am hoping, trusting, praying; Have compassion, Lord, on me! O my Savior, by Thy Spirit Thou hast called me o'er and o'er; Now repentant I am coming; Lord, my wand'ring soul restore! Chorus O my Savior, do not leave me Here to perish at Thy throne; In Thy tender, loving mercy Cleanse and make me all Thine own! Chorus

Doxology 01:31
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

about

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.” So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.

Ezekiel 37:1-9

The Seattle Hymn Project's debut album is titled "That They May Live" as a reference to this passage in Ezekiel 37. In this text, the Lord breathes life into a valley of dry bones and they become walking, talking beings. We love this imagery because it communicates so beautifully the power of the gospel to transform hearts and to bring life and hope into places of death and despair. This is a message of hope that we believe our campus and city desperately need to hear. This album was created to be a reminder of the life that is restored through the forgiveness and grace found in Jesus.

Reformed University Fellowship at the University of Washington and the congregations of Grace Church Seattle and Green Lake Presbyterian Church have participated in this project in an effort to demonstrate the love and grace of Jesus to the city of Seattle and to the world through the ministry of music. Our hope is that these hymns will be an assurance and a reminder of the beauty and truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
